For the first time ever at the Theatre Royal - a brand new amateur production of the world’s most popular musical, Les Misérables, in celebration of the show’s 40th anniversary

Nottingham Operatic are thrilled to have been asked by Cameron Mackintosh and MTI to lead one of eleven amateur premieres of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg’s multi-award winning musical phenomenon, Les Misérables.

In October 2024, Nottingham Operatic Society will be staging their first ever production of Frank Loesser's beloved Broadway smash - Guys & Dolls. Bustling with gamblers, gangsters, and showgirls, Guys and Dolls celebrates Damon Runyon’s comic book world of 1940s Times Square, New York City.



The show originally conquered Broadway in 1951 running for over 1200 performances and was the winner of 5 Tony Awards including Best New Musical, and again in 1992 with 4 Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical. It’s currently taking London by storm once again in The Bridge Theatre’s award winning immersive production.

In 2023 Nottingham Operatic Society celebrate their 130th year of creating the best musical theatre in this wonderful city with a brand new production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The famous flying car will land at the Theatre Royal on 25 October next year in this wonderful musical version of the classic MGM movie.

Nottingham Operatic Society proudly present THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME (originally developed by Disney Theatrical Productions and presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International (Europe)) onstage at the Theatre Royal from October 26 – 29 2022. This wonderful new musical is a superbly scored retelling of the Victor Hugo novel – an epic tale of passion, hope and redemption.

Presented by Nottingham Operatic Society, in their 121st year, with some of the best-known songs in musical theatre Tomorrow, It’s The Hard-Knock Life & Easy Street, Annie also boasts spectacular sets, glorious costumes, a hilarious script and of course the adorable dog Sandy.
